“This piece was commissioned by the Chinese guitarist Xuefei Yang”, who released two of the Meditations on her album “Si Ji” (GSP Records). I was exploring traditional Chinese music at the time, particularly the pipa instrument. These influences are represented in the composition, along with my own stylistic touches.” -Evan
