I offer private guitar lessons in the Los Angeles area (or by video via Skype). I design highly personalized lessons to bring out the best in my students. They learn how to listen critically and tackle musical challenges as a discrete, definable and attainable goal. It is my hope to inspire and bring new enthusiasm to my student’s playing by making their lessons engaging and progressive.
I have taught a wide range of students, from absolute beginners to accomplished professional guitarists. I have over 20 years of teaching experience, and have served on the faculty at numerous colleges, including the Musicians Institute. I have written two instructional books for Hal Leonard Corporation, including a best-selling book on extended guitar techniques that has been translated to multiple languages.
I hold a graduate degree in music from USC and I was a prize winner at the Stotsenberg International Guitar Competition. I hold numerous instrument endorsements, including my own signature model guitar, and as a composer I was commissioned to write a piece on the LAGQ’s Grammy award-winning recording Guitar Heroes. I have given masterclasses and workshops at numerous colleges and festivals and my students have been accepted by the most prestigious institutions for guitar.
